In the endless boundaries of culture comes a convergence of many hybrid identities. As a Mexican American photographer, traversing through ambiguous spaces are most influential to my work. I explore the multiple layers that exist within the Mexican American experience, highlighting the intersectionality between navigating multiple identities. Through over aestheticized visuals, I attempt to attack the lens of masculine bravado, religious iconography, fetishism, and the materiality that seems to be “standard” to an authentic American experience.
